This makes it too hot to enjoy the outdoors for most of the year. In addition, the cost of living is much higher.
On the other hand, Knoxville is a great place to retire. The cost of living is much lower, which includes housing, taxes, and general living expenses. Your retirement dollars will go much further in Knoxville. There are plenty of lakes and rivers to enjoy, as well as parks and trails to hike and explore. There are numerous locations within the city, but there are a tremendous amount of places to see in the surrounding areas, all a short drive from Knoxville and the surrounding areas.
