Cherokee Lake was formed when the Cherokee Dam was built during World War II. It provides hydroelectric power to the area and is known for its variety of fish. Cherokee Lake is a great fishing spot, where you will find channel catfish, smallmouth bass, striped bass, black bass, walleye, spotted bass, largemouth bass, and black crappie.
Panther Creek State Park is the main park in the area, but there are other smaller parks available in the area. if you enjoy hiking, there are several trails in the area that are popular.
