About Loudon

Loudon is often called the lakeway to the Smokies. Loudon includes the Fort Loudon lake, Tellico, Watts Bar lake and Melton Hill Lake. You’ll also find the Tennessee and Clinch Rivers. There are plenty of lakeside parks available to enjoy the view and the water. There are boating, hiking fishing and golfing activities galore.

Loudon is a great place to retire and features one of the fastest growing retirement communities in the area. The low cost of living and the scenic views draw many looking to retire to the area.

Fishing

Tellico Lake is the largest lake, at 15,500 acres and is home to over 50 species of fish, which makes it a popular fishing spot. Large fish are typical here, such as large and small mouth bass. Melton Hill Lake is a 5700 acre reservoir. This is also a popular place to fish, because of the warm water in this area.

Things to do in Loudon

Loudon has a lot to offer. They have a less dense population, but have plenty of boating activities, fishing and golfing, with some of the most serene gold courses in the area. There are plenty of opportunities for swimming, waterskiing, canoeing and kayaking, all staples of lake living.

Golfing

Loudon County is home to some of the best golf courses, including Tennessee National, Tellico Village, which has three great courses alone, the Toqua Golf Course, Tanasi Golf Course and The Links at Kahite Golf Course. You will also find courses courses such as: Rarity Bay, Landmark Golf Club at Avalon and WindRiver Golf Course. There is certainly no shortage of golf courses to test your golf game.
