Maryville is just a stone’s throw away from Knoxville and features a diverse economy. Many parts of Maryville are rural farming communities, there are also numerous wealthy communities, with homes belonging to well-known Knoxvillians such as Phillip Fulmer and even Shaquille O’neal lived there for several years.
Maryville is mainly a quiet community with a less dense population than Knoxville. Many people live in Maryville and commute to Knoxville for work.
Lake Living & Boating
Maryville is full of streams to explore and enjoy fishing or kayaking. There are two lakes in Maryville: the Greenbelt Lake and Mozingo Lake. There are several marinas to dock your boat, or you can visit Fort Loudon Lake, which is just a short drive from Maryville.
Attractions
There are a few attractions in Maryville, which are mainly historic sites, such as the Sam Houston Schoolhouse. You’ll also find a couple of castles called Millenium Manor castle and Greenback castle, which can be toured and visited. However, Knoxville and Sevierville are just short distances away. With just a short drive, you’ll be able to enjoy those attractions as well.
Things to Do in Maryville
Along with visiting all of the parks in Maryville and enjoying the great scenery, you can also take in a show at the Capitol Theatre or visit the Blue Goose Farm and Vineyard. There is also the Foothills Mall, or if you are looking for a thrill you can visit the Smoky Mountain Speedway.
